What is Bizik?

Bizik is a safe way to pay someone you do not fully trust yet, and to be paid by someone who does not fully trust you yet.

Here is the problem it solves. A buyer does not want to pay first, in case the seller takes the money and disappears. A seller does not want to deliver first, in case the buyer never pays. Somebody has to go first, and whoever does is taking the risk.

With Bizik, neither of you goes first. The buyer pays the money to Bizik, and we hold it. The seller can see the money is there, so they deliver with confidence. When the buyer confirms they have received what they agreed, we release the money to the seller.

That is called escrow. It is what banks and lawyers have done for large transactions for centuries. Bizik makes it work for a 25,000 FCFA phone sale, on WhatsApp, in two minutes.

What Bizik is not: we are not a party to your deal, we do not inspect goods, and we do not guarantee that the other person will deliver. What we guarantee is that the money does not move until the conditions you both agreed are met.
